देशाच्या १९ व्या लोकसभेच्या निवडणुकीत माढा लोकसभा मतदार संघातील माळशिरस तालुक्यात माजी पंचायत समिती सदस्य श्री. हनुमंत लक्ष्मण वाघमोडे पाटील यांच्या मातोश्री फोंडशिरस येथील बुथ क्र. ७८ वर श्रीमती वंचाबाई लक्ष्मण वाघमोडे पाटील वय वर्षे ९७, यांनी स्वतः चालत मतदान केंद्रावर येऊन आपला मतदानाचा हक्क बजावला. यावेळी वंचाबाई यांच्या बहिणीचा मुलगा माजी पंचायत समिती सदस्य मधुकर वाघमोडे पाटील, माळशिरस पंचायत समितीचे माजी उपसभापती सुभाष कुचेकर, संतोष महामुनी, बिनु पाटील, आदी मान्यवर उपस्थित होते.
फोंडशिरस येथे दुपारनंतर मतदानाला वेग आलेला आहे. मतदान केंद्रावर श्री बाणलिंग यात्रेच्या वेळी जशी गर्दी असते तशी गर्दी मतदानासाठी झालेली आहे. मतदानाची वेळ सायंकाळी सहा वाजेपर्यंत आहे मात्र, सीमारेषेच्या आत आलेल्या मतदारांचे मतदान घेणे बंधनकारक असल्याने मतदान प्रक्रियेला रात्रीचे आठ वाजतील अशा प्रकारे मतदान केंद्रावर गर्दी झालेली आहे. पोलीस प्रशासन यांनी योग्य बंदोबस्त लावलेला आहे. आरोग्य विभागाने उन्हापासून मतदारांना त्रास होऊ नये यासाठी प्रथम उपचाराची सुविधा उपलब्ध केलेली आहे शांततेत मतदान सुरू आहे.
