अकलुज उपपरिवहन अधिकारी अर्चना गायकवाड यांची पदोन्नती होवुन पुणे आरटीओ कार्यालयाच्या प्रादेशिक परिवहन अधिकारीपदी नुकतीच नियुक्ती झाली.

अर्चना गायकवाड यांनी अकलुज येथील कार्यकालात अनेक उपक्रम राबवत वाहन धारकांमध्ये रस्ते सुरक्षितते संदर्भात जनजागृती केली. अकलुज उपविभागीय परीवहन कार्यालयाच्या कार्यक्षेत्रात रस्ते सुरक्षा अभियान राबवत रस्ते अपघात होण्याची कारणे आणि उपाय याविषयीही नागरीकांना प्रत्यक्ष प्रात्यक्षिकांद्वारे दाखवत वाहन चालकांना शिस्त लावण्यासाठी मोलाचे योगदान दिले. त्यांनी सोलापुर प्रादेशिक परीवहन अधिकारी पदाची जबाबदारीही यशस्वीपणे पार पाडली होती. अत्यंत्य शिस्तप्रिय आणि स्पष्ट वक्त्या असलेल्या अधिकारी म्हणुन त्यांचा लौकीक होता.

परिवहन विभागाने गुरुवारी (ता. १३) रोजी सायंकाळी अर्चना गायकवाड यांच्या नियुक्तीचा आदेश काढला. राज्यातील सर्व आरटीओ अधिकाऱ्यांच्या पदोन्नतीचा आदेश ६ जून रोजी निघाला होता. मात्र, पुणे व चंद्रपूर कार्यालयांचा आदेश प्रलंबीत होता. राज्यातील  महत्त्वाच्या  समजल्या जाणाऱ्या पुणे आर. टी. ओ. साठी अकलुज उपप्रादेशिक परीवहन अधिकारी अर्चना गायकवाड व जळगावचे उप प्रादेशिक परिवहन अधिकारी शाम लोही यांच्यामध्ये रस्सीखेच चालु होती. अखेर गुरुवारी अर्चना गायकवाड यांची नियुक्ती पुणे येथे करण्यावर शिक्कामोर्तब झाला आहे.
