पिंपरी चिंचवड महानगरपालिकेने दि. १ डिसेंबर ते १४ डिसेंबर दरम्यान संगीत स्पर्धांचे आयोजन केले होते. या स्पर्धेमध्ये सुगम संगीत, शास्त्रीय संगीत तसेच वाद्य वादन स्पर्धा घेण्यात आल्या. या तिन्ही स्पर्धांमध्ये कन्हेरगाव ता. माढा येथील भावार्थ कोंडिबा हांडे व मल्हार कोंडिबा हांडे या बंधूंनी बाजी मारली.

लहान गटात मल्हार याने तबला वादनामध्ये प्रथम क्रमांक, सुगम गायनामध्ये प्रथम क्रमांक व शास्त्रीय गायनामध्ये द्वितीय क्रमांक मिळवला. तर मोठ्या गटात भावार्थ याने सुगम गायनामध्ये प्रथम क्रमांक व शास्त्रीय गायनामध्ये द्वितीय क्रमांक मिळवला.

त्यांच्या या यशाबद्दल पिंपरी चिंचवड मनपाचे उपआयुक्त मिनिनाथ दंडवते यांनी पारितोषिक देऊन गौरव केला. देहू संस्थानचे अध्यक्ष ह. भ. प. पुरुषोत्तम महाराज मोरे, भंडारा डोंगर समिती देहू अध्यक्ष ह. भ. प. बाळासाहेब काशीद व अभंग प्रतिष्ठानचे अध्यक्ष प्रा. विकास कंद, कृषी उत्पन्न बाजार समितीचे संचालक धनंजय मोरे, पोपट मोरे, लिंबाजी हांडे, सतिश हांडे यांनी अभिनंदन केले.
