लहानपणापासूनच चळवळीत काम करत सर्वसामान्य प्रश्नासाठी आवाज उठवत रस्त्यावर उतरून शेतकरी, कष्टकरी, गोरगरीब जनतेचे प्रश्न सोडवणारे व न्याय मिळवून देणारे असे सर्वसामान्यांच्या मनात विश्वास निर्माण करणारे महेश चिवटे यांच्या नावाचे नेतृत्व करमाळ्यातील जनतेच्या विश्वासाला पात्र ठरत आहे.

करमाळ्यातील त्यांच्या कार्यालयात रोज शेकडो नागरिक आपले प्रश्न घेऊन येत असताना महेश चिवटे त्याची तात्काळ दखल घेऊन त्यांचे प्रॉब्लेम सॉल्व्ह करत आहेत. त्यांचा जनतेचा रोजचा दरबार सर्वसामान्यांना आशेचा किरण ठरु लागला आहे.

तहसील कार्यालयातील प्रश्न असो, पोलीस स्टेशनचा प्रश्न असो, किंवा शासकीय योजनात आलेल्या अडथळ्यांचा प्रश्न असो, वैद्यकीय मदत असो, गावातील विकासाचा, अडचणीचा प्रश्न असो अशा सर्वसामान्यातील सर्वसामान्य जनतेच्या अडचणीच्या प्रसंगाला मदतीला धावून येणारे, चोवीस तास उपलब्ध असणारे व कोणाला जातपात, धर्म, गाव, गट, पक्ष न विचारता मनापासून त्याला मदत करणारे, त्यांचे प्रश्न सोडविणारे एक तरुण तडफदार नेतृत्व म्हणजे महेश चिवटे!

सोलापूर जिल्ह्यातील करमाळा शहर व तालुक्यात मुख्यमंत्री एकनाथ शिंदे यांचे खंदे समर्थक म्हणून शिवसेनेच्या माध्यमातून सक्रिय असणाऱ्या महेश चिवटे यांनी सातत्याने विविध गरजुंना मदत पुरविण्याची भुमिका घेतली आहे. हिंदुहृदयसम्राट शिवसेनाप्रमुख बाळासाहेब ठाकरे यांच्या समाजकारणाच्या विचारधारेला अनुसरून काम करणाऱ्या चिवटेंमुळे कित्येक गरजू, निराधारांना योग्य वेळी आधार मिळाल्याने चिवटे हे रिअल स्टार म्हणून समोर येवू लागले आहेत.

महेश चिवटे हे चळवळीतील व्यक्तिमत्व आहे. सद्या ते शिंदे गट शिवसेनेचे जिल्हाप्रमुख आहेत. मुख्यमंत्री एकनाथ शिंदे यांचे खास असणारे मुख्यमंत्री वैद्यकीय सहायत्ता कक्षाचे कक्षप्रमुख मंगेश चिवटे हे त्यांचे बंधू आहेत. या पार्श्वभुमीवर कार्यरत असणाऱ्या महेश चिवटे यांनी सोलापूर भागात शिंदे गटासाठी दिलेले योगदान निश्चितच उल्लेखनीय असे आहे. सोबतच गरजुंना मदत देण्याची त्यांची भुमिका दखलपात्र ठरत आहे.

मोफत आरोग्य शिबिरांचे आयोजन करुन विविध आजारांनी ग्रस्त रुग्णांना औषधे, गोळ्या वाटप, उपचार, दिव्यांगांसाठी शिबिरे घेवून त्यांना गरजेनुसार कृत्रिम अवयव व इतर साहित्यांची मदत, रक्तदान शिबिरांचे आयोजन, अपघातग्रस्तांना मदत, गरजू विद्यार्थ्यांना मदत अशा माध्यमातून चिवटे यांनी केलेल्या कार्यामुळे कित्येक गरजुंना मदत मिळाली आहे. कोरोना काळातही निराधार नागरिकांसाठी भोजन सेवा, आरोग्य सेवा देण्यात ते अग्रेसर राहिले होते.

आजोबा स्वातंत्र्यसैनिक स्व. मनोहरपंत चिवटे, वडील पत्रकार नरसिंहआप्पा चिवटे यांचा वेगळ्या विचारांचा वारसा लाभलेल्या महेश चिवटे यांची वाटचाल तशी प्रतिकूल स्थितीतून पुढे आली आहे. वास्तव परिस्थितीची जाणीव असलेल्या चिवटे यांनी परिस्थिती बदलत असताना नेहमीच बेरोजगारांना रोजगार देण्याला महत्व दिले आहे. चिवटे बंधुंच्या मुक्ताई गारमेंट्सचे स्पार्क शर्ट उद्योगामुळे साधारणतः साठ ते सत्तर जणांना रोजगाराची संधी मिळाली आहे.

ग्रामीण भागात कार्यरत असताना ज्येष्ठ नागरिक, कामगार, शेतकरी, शेतमजूर, रुग्ण, विद्यार्थी, निराधार, दिव्यांग आदिंच्या हितासाठी शक्य होईल ती मदत पुरविण्याचा ध्यास बाळगून कार्यरत असणारे महेश चिवटे यांनी करमाळा परिसरात सर्वसामान्यांचा आवाज बनून विविध आंदोलने करुन ती यशस्वी केली आहेत. राजकीय, सामाजिक प्रवासात चिवटे यांनी श्री मकाई सहकारी साखर कारखान्याचे संचालक, खत विक्री संघटनेचे अध्यक्षपद, करमाळा औद्योगिक वसाहतीचे चेअरमनपद, श्री आदिनाथ सहकारी साखर कारखान्याचे प्रशासकीय संचालकपद अशा विविध पदावर काम केले आहे.

आगामी काळात सर्व सुविधायुक्त हॉस्पिटलच्या माध्यमातून गोरगरिब रुग्णांना उच्च दर्जाच्या सुविधा पुरविण्याचा मानस बाळगून असलेले महेश चिवटे रिअल स्टार म्हणून निश्चितच पुढे आलेले आहेत.

लहानपणापासूनच राजकारणाची आवड त्यांना घरातूनच मिळाली त्यांचे आजोबा स्वातंत्र्यसैनिक साथी मनोहरपंत चिवटे यांनी स्वातंत्र्याच्या लढाईत भाग घेऊन एक इतिहास रचला होता. गोवा मुक्ती संग्राम असो किंवा देशासाठी कोणताही लढा असो यामध्ये त्यांचे प्रामुख्याने नाव घेतले गेले. त्यांनी करमाळ्यात नागरिक संघटनेची स्थापना करून जनतेतून नगराध्यक्ष पदाची निवड निवडणूक लढवून ते नगराध्यक्ष झाले. नंतर 1952 साली त्यांनी विधानसभा निवडणूक लढवली मात्र त्यांचा पराभव झाला. अशाच स्वातंत्र्य सैनिक व राजकीय सामाजिक क्षेत्रात काम करणाऱ्या घराण्याचा वारसा पुढे चालवत असताना महेश चिवटे यांनी स्वतःचा वेगळा प्रभाव करमाळा तालुक्याचे राजकारणात आणि समाजकारणात निर्माण केला आहे.

राज्याचे मुख्यमंत्री एकनाथ शिंदे यांचे विश्वासू कार्यकर्ते म्हणून सध्या त्यांचे सोलापूर जिल्ह्यात प्रामुख्याने नाव घेतले जाते व एकनाथ शिंदे यांनी त्यांना राजकीय ताकद देण्यासाठी सोलापूर जिल्हा प्रमुख पद, सोलापूर नियोजन मंडळाचे सदस्य पद दिले आहे. त्या माध्यमातून कोट्यावधी रुपयाची विकासकामे करण्यात चिवटे यशस्वी ठरले आहेत. करमाळा नगरपालिकेसाठी नवीन इमारत सहा कोटी रुपये, सांस्कृतिक भवनासाठी पाच कोटी रुपये, छत्रपती शिवाजी महाराज यांच्या पुतळ्याच्या सुशोभीकरणासाठी 70 लाख रुपये, यासह तालुक्यातील व शहरातील विविधकामांच्या रस्त्याच्या विकासासाठी जवळपास 30 कोटी रुपयांचा निधी त्यांनी उपलब्ध केला आहे. जेऊर एसटी स्टॅन्ड व करमाळा एसटी स्टॅन्ड दुरुस्ती व सुशोभिकरणासाठी प्रत्येकी दोन कोटी रुपये मंजूर करून घेतले आहेत. गेली 25 वर्षापासून रखडलेला करमाळा एमआयडीसीतील प्रश्न चिवटे यांच्या प्रयत्नाने मार्गी लागलेले असून या ठिकाणी उद्योग मंत्री उदय सावंत यांच्या माध्यमातून पाच कोटी रुपये खर्च करून रस्ते व दिवाबत्तीची कामे करून घेऊन प्लॉट वाटप चालू केले आहे. नवीन पाणीपुरवठा योजनेसाठी एक कोटी 90 लाख रुपये मंजूर झाले आहेत. या एमआयडीसी मध्ये जमिनीचे दर जास्त असल्यामुळे केवळ पाच पाच गुंठ्याचे जवळपास 60 प्लॉट तयार करण्यात आले असून त्याचे लवकर वाटप प्रक्रिया मंत्री सामंत यांच्या हस्ते सुरू होणार आहे.

तालुक्यातील रिटेवाडी उपसा सिंचन योजना सुरू करण्यासाठी गेली तीन वर्षापासून त्यांचे प्रयत्न सुरू असून मुख्यमंत्री एकनाथ शिंदे यांच्या माध्यमातून या योजनेच्या कामाला गती मिळत आहे. एप्रिल महिन्यात अंदाजपत्रक तयार होईल अशी नुकतीच माहिती जलसंपदा सचिव दीपक कपूर यांनी दिली आहे.

आदिनाथ सहकारी साखर कारखाना सहकार तत्त्वावरच राहावा यासाठी त्यांनी बचाव समिती निर्माण करून साखर कारखाना जनतेचा मालकीचा ठेवला ही उल्लेखनीय बाब आहे.

मुख्यमंत्री वैद्यकीय मदत कक्ष मार्फत मदत मिळवून देण्यासाठी स्वतंत्र कार्यालय चिवटे यांनी सुरु केले असून या माध्यमातून आत्तापर्यंत जवळपास एक कोटी दहा लाख रुपयांची आर्थिक मदत रुग्णांना मिळाली. शेकडो रुग्णांना याचा फायदा झाला आहे. याशिवाय करमाळा शिवसेनेच्या माध्यमातून अहोरात्र मोफत रुग्णवाहिका उपलब्ध आहे. तालुक्यात घेतलेल्या 13 आरोग्य शिबिराच्या माध्यमातून 30000 रुग्णांची तपासणी करून 7000 लोकांना मोफत चष्मे वाटप करण्यात आले आहेत. श्री कमला भवानी ब्लड बँक व खासदार श्रीकांत शिंदे डायलिसिस सेंटर उभा करून करमाळ्यातील रुग्णांची त्यांनी फार मोठी सोय केली आहे. करमाळा शहरातील उर्दू शाळेला वर्ग वाढ मिळून देण्यासाठी महत्त्वाची भूमिका घेऊन शहरातील व तालुक्यातील मुस्लिम समाजातील मुलींच्या शिक्षणाचा प्रश्न मार्गी लावण्यात यश मिळाले आहे.

व्यवसायाच्या माध्यमातून त्यांनी मोठी आर्थिक प्रगती केली असून गारमेंट प्रकल्पाच्या माध्यमातून 30 ते 40 महिलांना रोजगार मिळवून दिला आहे. रासायनिक खते, बी बियाणे आणि किटनाशके व्यवसायात आघाडी घेऊन आज नामांकित खत विक्रेते म्हणून त्यांचे जिल्ह्यात नाव आहे.

दांडगा जनसंपर्क प्रभावी वक्तृत्व कला सर्वसामान्य प्रश्नासाठी सत्ताधाऱ्यांची दोन हात करण्याची तयारी, स्पष्टवक्तेपणा, निर्भीड भूमिका, रोखठोक विचार,
जबाबदारी पूर्ण क्षमतेने पार पाडण्याची ताकद अशा वैशिष्ट्यामुळे तालुक्यातील राजकारणात एक प्रभावी व्यक्तिमत्त्व म्हणून त्यांचा नाम उल्लेख केला जावू लागला आहे. राजा का बेटा राजा नही होगा, काम करेगा ओ राजा होगा, हे लक्षात घेवून करमाळा तालुक्याची प्रगती साधण्यासाठी व तालुक्यातील जनतेला एक सक्षम पर्याय उपलब्ध करून देण्यासाठी विधानसभा लढवणार असल्याची घोषणा वाढदिवसाच्या निमित्ताने त्यांनी केली आहे. आता पक्षाने संधी दिल्यास आणि मुख्यमंत्री एकनाथ शिंदे साहेबांनी आदेश दिल्यास करमाळा विधानसभा लढविणार असल्याचे त्यांनी सांगितले आहे. त्यांच्या वाटचालीस शुभेच्छा!
