यावेळेस माजी सैनिक विलासराव गाढवे म्हणाले की, पौराणिक मान्यतेनुसार गुरुपौर्णिमा हा महाभारताचे लेखक वेद व्यास यांचा जन्मदिवस मानला जातो. त्यांच्या सन्मानार्थ या दिवसाला व्यासपौर्णिमा असेही म्हणतात. गुरु पौर्णिमेच्या दिवशी महर्षी वेदव्यास यांनी चारही वेदांची रचना केली आणि म्हणूनच त्यांना वेदव्यास असे नाव पडले.
यावेळी विकास फलफले मुख्याध्यापक, सुनील माळी, शंकर हुबाले, चंद्रकांत काळे, कालिदास मोरे, गोरु मेंगाळ, जयश्री झगडे, वर्षा कचरे, शीतल जाधव, स्वाती पडळकर, रवींद्र माने आदी उपस्थित होते.
