माळशिरस पोलीस स्टेशन हद्दीतील पिलीव व आसपासच्या परिसरातील पिलीव आऊट पोस्ट हद्दीतील राजरोसपणे हातभट्टीची दारू, मटका, जुगार, गांजा व गुटखा विक्री राजरोसपणे मंदिरे, शाळा, बस स्थानक अशा सार्वजनिक ठिकाणी मोठ्या प्रमाणात सुरू आहे. सदरचे अवैध व्यवसाय बंद करावे यासाठी सोलापूर ग्रामीणचे पोलीस अधीक्षक यांना पिलीव ग्रामपंचायतीचे कर्तव्यदक्ष सदस्य जीवन गोरे, नीरा देवधर उर्वरित संघर्ष समितीचे अध्यक्ष जलनायक शिवराजभैय्या पुकळे, राष्ट्रवादीचे सामाजिक न्याय तालुका उपाध्यक्ष कुमार लोखंडे, युवा नेते चैतन्य देशमुख यांनी निवेदन व समक्ष भेटून चर्चेअंती ग्रामपंचायत सदस्य जीवन गोरे यांनी आमरण उपोषण करण्याचा इशारा दिलेला होता. पोलीस अधीक्षक यांनी माळशिरस पोलीस स्टेशन व पिलीव आऊट पोस्ट यांना सूचना केलेल्या होत्या. कागदोपत्री कारवाई करून अवैध व्यावसायिकांना माळशिरस पोलीस स्टेशनच्या आशिर्वादाने पिलीव परिसरातील सर्व अवैध धंदे पुन्हा जोमाने सुरू झालेले आहेत.
पिलीव परिसरात 20 ते 30 तरुण आत्तापर्यंत मृत्यूमुखी पडलेले आहेत. दिवसेंदिवस तरुण पिढी व्यसनाधीन होत आहे. अवैध व्यवसाय करणारे लोक गुंड प्रवृत्तीचे आहेत, कोणालाही जुमानत नाहीत व कोणत्याच पोलिस स्टेशनच्या कारवाईला ते अजिबात घाबरत नाहीत. सर्व अवैध धंदे पोलीस प्रशासनाच्या आशिर्वादाने सुरू आहेत. अशा सर्व अवैध व्यावसायिकांच्या मुसक्या आवळण्याकरता पोलीस अधीक्षक यांची भेट घेतलेली होती. पिलीव ग्रामपंचायतीच्या 31 ऑगस्ट रोजी झालेल्या ग्रामसभेचा दारूबंदीचा व अवैध व्यवसायिकांचा ठराव होऊन सुद्धा अवैध व्यावसायिक व पोलीस यांची मिली भगत अर्थपूर्ण संबंधामुळे अवैध धंदे बंद करीत नाहीत. तरी जिल्हा पोलीस अधीक्षक व अकलूज उपविभागीय अधिकारी यांनी तातडीने दखल घेऊन सर्व अवैध धंदे बंद करावेत, अन्यथा पुन्हा आमरण उपोषण करण्याची वेळ पोलीस प्रशासनाच्या नाकर्तेपणामुळे येणार असल्याची दुर्दैवी वेळ पिलीवच्या ग्रामस्थांवर येणार आहे. तरी कर्तव्यदक्ष पोलीस अधीक्षक व अकलूज उपविभागीय अधिकारी यांनी अवैध व्यावसायिकांच्या मुसक्या आवळाव्या अशी त्रस्त नागरिकांमधून चर्चा होत आहे. माळशिरस पोलीस स्टेशन व पिलीव आऊट पोस्ट मधील अधिकारी व कर्मचारी अवैध व्यावसायिकांना पाठीशी घालत आहेत. तरी, कायमस्वरूपी अवैध व्यवसाय बंद व्हावे, अशी ग्रामपंचायत सदस्य जीवनकुमार शंकरराव गोरे यांनी भावना व्यक्त केलेल्या आहेत.
