टीव्हीवरील मनोज जरांगे पाटील यांचे उपोषणादरम्यान झालेली क्षीण अवस्था पाहून अस्वस्थ झालेल्या राहुल कोडग, सचिन माने देशमुख, लक्ष्मण माने देशमुख, अतुल मोहिते, शिवराज माने देशमुख, संग्राम मगर, बबलू जाधव या तरुणांनी येथील पालखी चौकात असलेल्या बीएसएनएलच्या टॉवरवर चढून साकडे घालण्यास सुरुवात केल्यानंतर प्रशासकीय यंत्रणेमध्ये एकच खळबळ उडाली. या तरुणांना वेळापूर पोलीस स्टेशन, महसूल विभाग, उपविभागीय अधिकारी यांच्या वतीने खाली उतरण्याची विनंती केल्यानंतरही हे तरुण आपल्या मागणीवर ठाम राहिले.
सोशल मीडियातून ही बातमी सर्व दूर पसरली. या तरुणांची समजूत काढण्यासाठी अंतरवाली येथील उपोषण आंदोलनातील समन्वय समिती सदस्य सरपंच संजय कटारे यांनी फोनवरून या तरुणांना समजविण्याचा प्रयत्न झाल्यानंतरही तरुण मागणीवर ठाम राहिले. शेवटी स्वतः मनोज जरांगे पाटलांनी तब्येत ढासळत असताना या तरुणांशी संवाद साधून पाच वाजता पत्रकार परिषदेदरम्यान पाणी घेण्याचे कबूल केले. भावनाविवश झालेल्या तरुणांनी ‘लाख गेले तरी चालतील, लाखांचा पोशिंदा वाचावा’ या उद्देशाने सुरू केलेले अर्जव आंदोलन जरांगे पाटलांच्या शब्दानंतर मागे घेतले.
दरम्यान येथे रविवार (दि. 29) पासून आमरण उपोषणावर बसलेल्या सुदीप उर्फ जवान माने देशमुख, विजयराज माने देशमुख, मिलिंद माने देशमुख या तीन आंदोलकांची वैद्यकीय तपासणी दिवसभरात तीन वेळा पार पडली. त्यांची प्रकृती स्थिर असल्याचे डॉक्टरांनी सांगितले.
