भारतीय जनता पक्षाने आगामी निवडणुकीच्या पार्श्वभूमीवर महाविजय २०२४ असा महत्वाकांक्षी संकल्प केला असून, विधानपरिषदेचे आमदार श्रीकांतजी भारतीय यांची प्रदेश संयोजक म्हणून महाराष्ट्र राज्याचे उपमुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्रजी फडणवीस आणि विधानपरिषदेचे आमदार व भाजपाचे महाराष्ट्र राज्याचे अध्यक्ष चंद्रशेखर बावनकुळे यांनी त्यांची नियुक्ती करून आगामी विधानसभा आणि लोकसभेच्या निवडणुकीचे रणशिंग फुंकलेले आहे. विधानसभेच्या किमान २०० जागांवर विजय मिळविण्याचे उद्दिष्ट पक्षाने ठेवलेले आहे. भाजपचे प्रदेशाध्यक्ष चंद्रशेखर बावनकुळे आणि महाराष्ट्र राज्याचे कर्तव्यदक्ष उपमुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्रजी फडवणीस यांनी या उद्दिष्ट पूर्तीची जबाबदारी आमदार श्रीकांतजी भारतीय यांच्यावर सोपविल्यानंतर सोमवार दि. १३ फेब्रुवारी रोजी सोलापूर जिल्ह्याच्या दौऱ्यावर येणार असून पंढरपूर येथे श्री विठ्ठल रुक्मिणीचे दर्शन घेऊन महाविजय २०२४ चा संकल्प सिद्धीचा प्रारंभ करणार आहेत. पंढरपूर नंतर अक्कलकोट येथेही श्री स्वामी समर्थ यांचे आशीर्वाद घेण्याकरता जाणार आहेत.
आ. श्रीकांतजी भारतीय यांनी आजपर्यंत पक्ष वाढीसाठी केलेल्या प्रामाणिक प्रयत्नांची दखल घेऊन ही निवड करण्यात आली आहे.
देवेंद्रजी फडणवीस हे मुख्यमंत्री असताना पक्षाची पकड राज्यातील ग्रामीण भागात मजबूत करण्यासाठी व्यूहनीती तयार करण्यात आली. यात श्रीकांतजी भारतीय यांची महत्त्वाची भूमिका होती.
विधान परिषदेसाठी भाजपमध्ये अनेक दिग्गज स्पर्धेत असताना मूळचे अमरावतीकर श्रीकांतजी भारतीय यांना संधी देण्यात आली. भाजपच्या प्रदेश पातळीवरील राजकारणात आजवर पडद्याआड राहून काम करणाऱ्या भारतीय यांना त्यांच्या पक्षसंघटनात्मक बांधणीतील योगदानाचे बक्षीस मिळाले आहे. अभाविप कार्यकर्ता ते भाजपचे पडद्यामागील रणनीतीकार विधान परिषदेतील आमदार असा श्रीकांतजी भारतीय यांचा प्रवास झाला असून पश्चिम विदर्भातील भाजप पक्षसंघटन बळकट करण्याची जबाबदारी त्यांच्यावर असणार आहे.
नागपूर मुंबई कार्यक्षेत्र राहिले आहे. आता संपूर्ण महाराष्ट्राची जबाबदारी आली आहे. अमरावती जिल्ह्यातील मूळ रहिवासी असले, तरी त्यांचा अधिक वावर हा प्रदेश पातळीवरील राजकारणात राहिला आहे. एक अभ्यासू नेते म्हणून त्यांची ओळख आहे. परतवाडा येथे शेतकरी, शिक्षक कुटुंबात जन्मलेल्या श्रीकांतजी भारतीय यांनी शेतकरी संघटनेत काम करताना शेतकरी आंदोलनातही सहभाग घेतला होता. प्राध्यापक, पत्रकार म्हणून त्यांनी काम केले.
१९८५ पासून अखिल भारतीय विद्यार्थी परिषदेचे कार्यकर्ते, विदर्भाचे प्रदेश संघटनमंत्री, आसाममधल्या बोडो अल्फा चळवळींवर अभ्यासक म्हणून काम, १९९४ पासून पूर्णवेळ भाजपचे कार्यकर्ते, नागपूर शहर संघटन मंत्री, नागपूर विभाग संघटन मंत्री, २००० ते २००६ युवा मोर्चा प्रदेश संघटन मंत्री, पुणे विभाग संघटन मंत्री, २०१४ च्या लोकसभा निवडणुकीत ‘वॉर रूम’ चे प्रमुख, २०१४ च्या विधानसभा निवडणुकीत ‘प्रदेश निवडणूक व्यवस्थापन समिती समन्वयक’, २०१५ ते २०१९ तत्कालीन मुख्यमंत्री देवेंद्रजी फडणवीस यांचे विशेष कार्य अधिकारी, २०२० पासून भाजपाचे प्रदेश सरचिटणीस अशी श्रीकांतजी भारतीय यांची कारकीर्द आहे.
